A motorcycle rider underwent emergency surgery for a broken leg at the Georgetown Public Hospital after he was involved in an afternoon accident on Norton Street.
Details are sketchy, but this newspaper was told that Patrick Daniel of Sophia was riding his motorcycle when he collided with a truck at Norton and Haley streets.
At the hospital yesterday, the man’s sister-in-law told this newspaper, she received a call some time after three o’clock and had rushed to the scene. She said Daniel’s motorbike was under the wheel of the truck.
Daniel was reportedly rushed to the hospital by a passing Guyana Defence Force vehicle.
