Top brass returned on Caribbean basketball executive

Richards, of the US Virgin Islands (USVI), and most of the executive members were returned at the CBC’s recent 2010 annual general assembly. Marland Nattie and Glyne Clarke are back as vice presidents.

Jamaican Nattie is programme and development VP and Barbadian Clarke is VP — technical operations.

Only two new members were voted onto the executive — Puerto Rico’s Carlos Beltran, who will serve as vice-president finance and marketing, and the British Virgin Islands’ Guy Malone, who comes on as a board member.

The new executive will conduct CBC’s affairs until 2014.

St Vincent and the Grenadines’ Sabrina Mitchell is secretary-general and Harvey Nielsen, of the USVI, is treasurer, while Malone and the Cayman Islands’ Victor O’Garro are the board members.

The CBC’s annual general assembly, staged on Saturday January 30, was attended by representatives from Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, USVI, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Guyana, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago,

The CBC Executive is responsible for governing the affairs of its members and representing the interest of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and FIBA Americas in the Caribbean region.
