Boxers sign contracts for March 26 ProAm card

Local boxers on Friday signed contracts in the boardroom of Abdool and Abdool Insurance Company for the second staging of the much anticipated and hyped Friday Night Fights which is scheduled for the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on March 26.

The upcoming bouts, the second on the ‘Friday Night Fights’ schedule for 2010 promises fight fans a night of exciting professional boxing in both the catch weight and junior welterweight divisions.

In the catch weight division, Mandessa Moses and Ali Marques who made their professional debuts last year, will battle it out over four rounds while Iwan Azore is set to take on Joseph Murray in the final catch weight bout of the evening. The junior welterweight division will see a rematch between Shawn Pile and Paul Lewis Jr. Pile knocked out Lewis in their last bout and he declared that he was looking to do the same come March 26.

In the final match-up the experienced Marcelle Daniels will try to add another win to his stats when he challenges Troy Lewis in a junior middleweight bout.

A number of amateur fights are also scheduled with Donald Trapp taking on Richard Williams, Amanda Norville and Stephan Gouveia out of the Harpy Eagles boxing gym coming up against Theresa London and Marvin Ajeday respectively and Guyana Defence Force’s (GDF) Devon Boatswain opposing Delroy James of the Republic Boxing Gym.
