The semi-finals of the Berbice Football Association (BFA) Coca Cola knockout tournament kicks off today at the Blairmont Community Centre Ground with the four remaining teams battling for spots in the final.
In the first match at 2pm, former two-time league champions, Monedderlust, with the in-form Anthio Wallace and Gladwin Johnson spearheading the attack, will take on the sturdy New Amsterdam United team which features the likes of Adrian “Garnett” Adams, Kelvin Joseph and Colin Bowry.
The feature match between Cougars F.C and Rosignol United kicks off at 4pm.
Cougars will be led by prolific striker, Winston Benjamin, who scored a stunning eight goals against Hopetown for his team to help them through to this round.
He will be supported by Horace Roache and Stephon DeFlorimonte with Ryan Kellowan as the custodian.
Rosignol United will be spearheaded by the Fraser brothers (Delroy and Delwin) whilst Olvis “Jim Reeves” Mitchell and Roncy Caleb are expected to fully support.
The final and third place showdown is scheduled for the same venue on Saturday from 6pm under floodlights.
