Telecommunications company Digicel captured a number of top prizes in the just concluded Mashramani float parade competition.
A press release today from the Mash Secretariat said that Digicel won the 1st prize in the Full Costume Large Band category and also carted off the top prizes in the Small Semi-Costume Band category and the male and female individual categories. It also tied for first place with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport in the King category.
The Ministry of Local Government took the first prize in the Large Semi-Costume band. The Ministry of Amerindian Affairs took first spot in the Medium Full Costume Band while the Ministry of Education placed first in the small band full costume category. The Ministry of Health waltzed away with the Queen’s prize. In the float category, the Ministry of Culture won the non-commercial category, GPL placed first in the commercial category and Slingshot triumphed in the animal-drawn category.
