Bandits grab $2M from Jialing employee

The police are probing an armed robbery that occurred at about 2.10 pm yesterday at Barrack Street, Kingston, during which accounts clerk Bernard Wilburg was attacked and robbed by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

Police say that investigations revealed that Wilburg, who is employed with the Jialing Forestry Industry Ltd; had earlier withdrawn $2M from a city bank and was sitting in a company vehicle waiting on the driver who had gone into a business place. During this period the two perpetrators confronted Wilburg and held him at gunpoint and took away a bag containing the money after which they escaped on a motor cycle.
