Body found in cemetery suspected to be homeless man

The body of a man, suspected to be that of a homeless person, was on Wednesday discovered in Le Repentir Cemetery.

Although it is not clear who made the discovery or reported the finding, persons on the scene were of the opinion that the man was a “junkie” who wandered into the cemetery.

However, relatives of Quacey Harry later sought to identify the body as his at the Lyken’s Funeral Parlour but they said they were not positive.

This newspaper was told that the corpse was beyond recognition as it was severely burnt and had darkened, after apparently lying in the sun for some hours.

Relatives said that Harry, 40, was homeless. They plan to return to Lyken’s with other family members to confirm the identity of the corpse.

Until the body is identified, a post-mortem examination cannot be done.
