Cops probing Albouystown shooting

The police say they are investigating an incident that occurred at about 1800h yesterday at James and Hunter Streets, Albouystown, Georgetown, during which Meskshaka Brazilio, 24 years, was shot and injured to his chest.

Police say that investigations revealed that Brazilio hired a taxi and went to James and Curtis Streets, Albouystown, where he and another man became involved in an argument during which the man armed himself with a firearm.

According to the police, Brazilio re-entered the vehicle which drove off following which the armed man discharged rounds at the vehicle and damaged the rear windscreen. The gunman then pursued the motor car on a motor cycle and caught up with the vehicle at James and Hunter Streets, Albouystown, where he fired shots at Brazilio hitting him to the chest, after which he escaped.

Brazilio has been admitted a patient at a private hospital.
