Fire guts Subryanville house

A fire of unknown origin this morning gutted a Subryanville house, leaving in its wake an estimated $30 million in damage.

At the time of the blaze, which was spotted around 07:40 hours, the lone occupant, Mervyn Butts was not at home.

Butts, who is a re-migrant, said that he had been living in the Lot 260 Fifth Avenue, Subryanville property for about a month.

He noted that yesterday he saw a spark near the meter and he suggested that the fire was electrical in origin. He complimented fire fighters for their quick response and efforts to save his house, which has an estimated value of $30 million.

He lost about $5 million worth of items, including important documents.
