Sponsors getting onboard Rising Sun Turf Club pre-Mashramani horse race meet

Beverage giant Banks DIH Limited, Digicel and Jumbo Jet Auto Sales have been joined by Cummings Electrical, Romell Jagroop Construction,  Chester Fry Chicken of Bush Lot, West Coast Berbice, Hablaw’s Meat Centre, Dalip Trading, Toucan Industries and Poultry Supplies and businessman Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall, Bourda Market.

More sponsors are likely to come onboard for the event, which is expected to have nine races and over $3.5 million in cash, trophies and other incentives up for the taking. According to the organisers, over 60 horses have already been registered for the day’s programme.

The feature event is the B class horses over 1300m and will be sponsored by Banks DIH Limited and  the prize money for that race totals close to $1 million. The first prize is $450,000 and the company’s trophy.

Turfites, according to organisers Fazal Habibulla and Inshanally Habibulla, can expect the ongoing rivalry among horses such as Prince Charming, Night Crescendo, Marathon Man, Wad A Luck, Gullium, Miss Orientate and Delmur Gold in the main event.

The three-year-old race for horses bred and born in Guyana and the West Indies has a top prize of $250,000. This race, according to organizers, has some first-rate three-year-old horses. The other three-year-old event for horses bred and born in Guyana also has some first-class entrants and will fetch a top prize of $200,000 and a trophy.

Sabrina Joy, Princes Yasmin and Better than Gold, Super Cat, Wicked Intention, Apostle, Royal Salute and Million Dollar Man are among the three-year-olds.

The other events on the day’s programme are the E Class event with $180,000 and trophy for the winner while the G and Lower showdown will grant the winner  $150,000 and trophy.
The H class has a winner’s prize of $140,000 and trophy while in the I and Lower race the winner will cart off $130,000 and trophy.  There is an event for animals classified I3 and lower and those with one win where the winner will run away with $120,000 and a trophy.

The other event on the day’s programme is for horses classified K and lower and will see the winner receiving $90,000 and a trophy.

Meanwhile, leading individual performers including champion jockey, champion trainer and champion stable will all receive trophies and other prizes.
