GT&T mounts chess sets in Main St. Avenue

Inclement weather yesterday caused the postponement of the official handing over by GT&T of four permanent mounted chess sets to the Guyana Chess Association. The sets have been sited in Main Street Avenue in front of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
However, the handing over will now take place at the same venue on Monday.

The donation of the sets was to be made by GT&T’s CEO Yog Mahadeo as part of the company’s 20th anniversary celebrations in an effort to popularize the game of chess in Guyana.

GT&T officials present at the site yesterday stated that  they are trying to enhance the country with these projects and urged that persons refrain from any attempts to deface the chess sets along the avenue.
