New Amsterdam whips Pistons

The New Amsterdam United Football Club led by Adrian Adams inflicted a 4 – 0 whipping on Pistons United on Thursday at Burnham Park when action in the Berbice Football Association Senior League competition continued.

The competition continues today at the No# 5 Playfield with Monedderlust challenging Pistons from 4:00pm while tomorrow at Burnham Park, Rosignol United  will oppose Cougars FC from the same time.

Adams produced a brace for his team  which propelled them to another three points in the competition. Colin ‘Ash’ Bowry drew first blood for NA when he scored in the 21st minute while Adams found the back of the net in the 35th minute.

The NA striker is now the leading goal scorer in the tournament with eight goals from as many matches.
The second half resumed with Pistons still down by two goals before Delroy Ferdinand got into the act for NA with a 50th minute goal while Adams was able to score in the final minute of play to make it a comfortable victory.

Earlier in the week, defending league champions NA United trounced Monedderlust FC 6 – 2 with Adams leading the way again with a helmet- trick while Cougars recorded a 1 – 0 victory over Pistons.

In the NA/Monedderlust battle, Adams scored goals in the 15th, 58th, 77th and 90th minutes and he was supported by Ferdinand and Leonardo Adams who scored in the 39th and 47th minutes respectively while Monedderlust’s goals were scored by Gladwyn Johnson and Trevis Henry.
