Taxi-driver still in custody over disappearance of Trini in Jamaica

(Trinidad Express) A Jamaican taxi-driver remains in police custody as investigators probe the disappearance and possible death of Michelle Coudray, daughter of San Fernando Mayor Marlene Coudray.

Deputy Superintendent of the Jamaican Constabulary Communication Network, Steve Brown, told the Express yesterday that of the other “persons of interest” that were being interviewed by police, only the taxi driver is detained.

The taxi-driver is not yet classified as a suspect, Brown said, although he has been in police custody since Monday.

“There are several persons who have been questioned,” Brown said.

“We have one person who is of interest. That is the taxi-driver. He remains in custody”.

Brown declined to give details on the taxi driver, but the Express was told he was married, and has two children.

The Express also learned that he drove the taxi part-time, and within recent months he and Michelle had become friends.
