Lennox Shuffler recovering after robbery

Toucan Industries General Manager, Lennox Shuffler, was released from the hospital several hours after he was shot and relieved of $2M on Friday last. The police are yet to apprehend the perpetrators.

According to the police, in a press release, 74- year old Shuffler had just closed up his office at Water Street, Kingston, and was about to board a vehicle when he was robbed. The press release stated that the businessman was confronted by two men on a motorcycle, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

The police added that the men held up the businessman and attempted to relieve him of a bag he was carrying at that time. The gunmen succeeded in relieving the man of the bag which contained the cash after they shot him in his left ankle.

The driver of the motor vehicle, Shuffler was about to board, pursued the robbers but they managed to evade him through the traffic.

Relatives of the businessman told Stabroek News that he was discharged from the hospital several hours after the incident and is said to be recovering very well.
