The police say they are investigating the murder of miner Gregory Thomas, 32 years, of Karrau, Essequibo River, which occurred at about 0130h yesterday at Karrau.
Investigations, police said, revealed that Thomas and another man were imbibing at a shop when an argument ensued during which he was stabbed to his abdomen. He was pronounced DOA at the Bartica Hospital.
The suspect is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
