Yonette Romao-Scarville admitted to the bar

Former human resources officer of the Guyana Responsible Parenthood Association Yonette Romao-Scarville was on November 9, admitted to the bar.  Her petition was presented by Attorney Raphael Trotman before Justice Brassington Reynolds.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” said Romao-Scarville after her petition was presented. She said that those were the words that encouraged and motivated her throughout the period of her studies.

Romao-Scarville, obtained her secondary education at the South Georgetown Secondary School and later Charlestown Government Secondary, where she wrote several subjects at the CXC and GCE O-level examinations.

She pursued studies in Industrial Relations and Social Studies, Human Resource Management and Communication and Effective speaking at the Critchlow’s Labour College where she graduated as best student in all three instances.

In 1999, she graduated from the University of Guyana with a Bachelor of Social Sciences Degree (Sociology) with honours.

Then 2010 graduated with the Bachelor of Law Degree with honours after which she attended and successfully completed studies at the Hugh Wooding Law School obtaining the Legal Education Certificate.

Prior to entering the legal profession she worked as a human resources officer at GRPA, personnel and accounting officer at the Marics & Co Ltd and at the Property Protection Services Limited  as a senior accounts clerk.

The new attorney said she sees herself contributing to the legal profession by representing the rights of families generally and has a likeness for probate and conveyance.
