Countrywide dominoes competition gets underway tomorrow

Come tomorrow, the eagerly awaited 27-team dominoes competition organized by Mark `Jumbie’ Wiltshire and Orin Joseph will commence at Joseph’s residence, Gaulding Place South Ruimveldt Park,

According to a press release, first place finishers will walk away $150,000 richer while second and third placed teams will receive $75,000 and $40,000 respectively and trophies to boot.

The tournament will be contested on a two in one out basis with four games instead of the usual six being the maximum. Each team will be granted one re-entry.

After the opening day at the Joseph’s residence, the tournament will move to Striker’s Domino Sports Bar before reverting back to the Vice President of the Guyana National Dominoes Association Joseph’s residence for the final games on the February 5 and 6.

While the final will be played with the same two teams in and one out format matches will be the first to six games instead of four, the release noted.
