Kings, Jets win

Kashif and Shanghai Kings defeated Half Mile Bulls 86-44 while Retrieve Raiders fell to Amelia’s Ward Jets 50-69 when the Linden Amateur Basketball Association/Trophy Stall League continued on

Saturday at the Mackenzie Sports Club Hard Court.

Bulls trailed 13 – 22 at the end of the first period and 40 – 24 at half time and 69-39 at the end of the third.

The Kings’ Jason Alonso scored 17 points but fouled out early in the fourth quarter.

The Bulls only scored five points in the fourth quarter.

Michael Turner scored the game high 18 points for Half Mile Bulls and was his team’s only player to

reach double digits.

Omally Sampson 16, Steve Neils Jr., 14, Shawn Muss 13 and Marvin Hartman nine were the

top scorers for the Kings who will now play the Victory Valley Royals on Wednesday.

In the second game, Raiders, who were without

forward Dwayne ‘Brown Sugar’ Roberts, struggled in the first half which ended with them trailing by a mere three points (25-22).

Jets point Guard Kevin Joseph scored 16 points while Ruel Mc Kinnon supported with 14 points.

For the Raiders who trailed 33-45 at the end of the third quarter, Neil Marks scored 15 points and Sheldon Noel, 13.
