Cycle Classic for Amelia’s Ward Circuit on April 1

The first Baker’s Memorial Cycle Classic being hosted by the Linden Bauxite Flyers Cycling Club will ride off on April 1 at the Amelia’s Ward Circuit in Linden from 11:00hrs.

According to a press release, the competition is being sponsored by the Baker family and the Guyana Sports Development Foundation.

Meanwhile the seniors will be hard pressed to maintain  their dominance in the feature event since the junior cyclists  are in tremendous form lately.

Keen  rivalry is anticipated in the junior category as Georgetown’s Paul De Nobrega, Raynaugth Jeffrey, Raul Leal and Kurt La Rose, just to name a few, will pedal against Linden’s Michael and Montell Anthony, Akeem Arthur and  Gordon Sampson.

In the senior category Linden’s strong man Orville Hinds will certainly be aiming to keep the Linden team ahead with the help of Mark Lewis and Rastaf O’Selmo while the Georgetown challenge will come from Robin Persaud,  Warren ‘40’ McKay, Alonzo Greaves, Walter Grant Stuart,  Geron Williams and Lindener turn city boy, Marlon ‘Fishy’ Williams.
