Power lifter wins airline ticket at Jaguars game

Secretary of the Guyana Amateur Power-lifting Federation (GAPF) Gordon Spencer was one of two lucky fans attending the Guyana/El Salvador World Cup Qualifying game who won Caribbean Airlines (CAL) return tickets to New York.

Spencer correctly predicted that Gregory ‘Jackie Chan’ Richardson would have been the first Guyanese player to score against El Salvador in the Brazil 2014 World Cup Qualifier which was played on Tuesday night at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.

Sales Executive of Caribbean Airlines, Dion Innis (right) yesterday handed over the ticket to a smiling Gordon Spencer.

Guyana lost that match 2-3 to the Central Americans. Spencer was one of six fans decked out in yellow who were randomly selected as they entered the stadium and asked to make the prediction.

There was another promotion where six other fans were asked to predict the final score; no one got the correct answer.

CAL Sales Executive Dion Inniss, who made the presentation to Spencer at the Stadium on the night of the game, said that he was happy with the response shown by the fans and complimented Spencer, an ardent Golden Jaguars supporter.
