Biker dies after harbour bridge crash

Police say that investigations are being conducted into a fatal accident that occurred at about 1320h today on the Demerara Harbour Bridge and which resulted in the death of Lemuel Ogle, 22 years, of Middle Street, Pouderoyen, WBD.

Police say that investigations revealed that motor car HC 110 was proceeding west along the bridge, while Ogle was riding his motor cycle CG 4998 in the opposite direction.  It is alleged that the motorcyclist skidded on the bridge and collided with the motor car.

He suffered injuries and was taken to the GPHC where he was pronounced DOA.

The driver of the motor car is in police custody, assisting with the investigations.
