The Kidney Foundation of Guyana has launched a website and has produced cards with useful tips to prevent kidney disease, with support from GT&T in recognition of World Kidney Day 2013.
The Foundation said it is seeking to establish a registry of persons receiving dialysis treatment by networking with dialysis centres across the country to assist persons vulnerable to obesity, diabetes, hypertension and kidney failure about the impact of these diseases on their livelihoods.
The website can be accessed at www.kfg.org.gy. It boasts contact information for all the dialysis centres and provides information on a number of risk factors and other facts.
The fact cards will be distributed free at all clinics, hospitals and dialysis centres, the release said.
