Livestock agency, US in veterinary outreach

The Guyana Livestock Development Agency (GLDA) and the US Embassy’s Humanitarian Assistance Program (HAP), conducted a veterinary training seminar and a livestock veterinary treatment outreach in Region 3 from July 15 to 20, 2013.

A release from the US Embassy said that during the veterinary seminar, the HAP team provided GLDA veterinarians with refresher training in areas such as basic microscopy techniques and deworming strategies.

The release added that GLDA Region 3 vets and the HAP also held on-site, livestock, clinical assessments and on-site treatments for gastro-intestinal nematodes and ecto-parasite infestations on the West Coast and West Bank.
