Dark Horses St Pius Primary scores upset win

Dark horses St. Pius Primary defeated tournament favourites Tucville Primary 1-0 when the Petra Organization/Courts Guyana Incorporated in collaboration with Banks DIH Limited Pee Wee U11 football tourney continued at the Thirst Park ground yesterday.

Bevney Mark netted the only goal converting a penalty in the seventh minute. Awarded the spot kick following a hand ball in the area, Mark would drill his powerful right-footed effort to the lower right handed corner.

St. Pius almost doubled their lead in the second half through Marcus Wilson. Cutting in from the left side of the field, Wilson would unleash a powerful right-footed drive that forced Tucville custodian Kedar Chester to save with his legs.

Tucville would create their best chance of the fixture through a Rayheim Marques effort. Receiving a DeAndre Linton right sided cross, Marques would see his right-footed strike from within the penalty area sail just over the cross bar.

In other results, St. Gabriel’s Primary edged Stella Maris Primary 1-0 through a Teon Forde 24th minute strike.
