Female taxi driver found murdered

A female taxi driver was early today found murdered at the back of a resort on the Linden/Soesdyke Highway hours after she went missing.

The nude body of Savitree Gangadeen  of 84 Public Road, Soesdyke, was found at a spot known as Loam Pit by a group of persons who had formed a search party after she failed to return home. Her car was found some distance away and is now in police custody.

Stabroek News was told that the woman’s body was found at around 6am in the busy area. Gangadeen, who is better known as ‘Mia’ worked as a taxi driver at the Soesdyke junction but never works after 8pm and when she failed to return home her relatives became suspicious and started to search for her. With the help of residents they searched the entire night and the gruesome discovery was made this morning.

Police are investigating.
