Grocery owner injured in Westminster robbery

At about 1030h today, the police say that Ann Gravesande, 52 years, was in her grocery shop at Westminster, Parfait Harmonie, WBD, when she was attacked by three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

Police say that Gravesande was shot and injured to her right foot and right hand, and robbed of an unascertained sum of cash by the perpetrators who then escaped.

She has been admitted to the West Demerara Regional Hospital.

Investigations are in progress.
