A student of Line Path Lutheran School lost his life in the Corentyne River whilst he was swimming at Orealla on Tuesday.

Andrew Dayal Singh, 14, of #71 Village, Corentyne was a participant in a church camp when he and the group of cam-pers visited ‘Chalk Hill’, a popular tourist destination in the Amerindian community which is located by the river side. The lad reportedly went for a swim in the deep and began to struggle to return to shore after the current became intense. Members of the group noticed him struggling but because of the distance they were unable to help.
