It has been the practice for a long time for some vehicle owners to tint the lights, not the headlights, of their vehicles. I am not sure that there is any mention in the traffic laws deeming this legal or illegal. Could someone from the Traffic Department comment on this?
It is not good enough to have traffic ranks pounce on motorists who for years have been driving such vehicles which were purchased like that, and who are now being charged for this as an offence.
Some police officers are laws unto themselves and nothing a driver says is listened to. Some of these ranks do not seem to have a conscience and lack basic courtesy and reasoning.
A tinted light is not a blinding light. I strongly believe that those ranks who cannot discern an indicator at work need to take off their shades. Traffic regulations should prohibit ranks on the road from wearing dark glasses. The majority of them only wear glasses to look flashy, and this tends to hinder them from recognising that a tint on trafficators is in no way a traffic hazard and innocent motorists must in no way be made their whipping boy.
