Seven guns handed over in amnesty up to Monday  

Up to Monday, seven guns and more than a thousand rounds of ammunition had been handed over under the one-month amnesty announced by the Ministry of Public Security.

A release from the Guyana Police Force yesterday said that in `A’ Division (Georgetown and East Bank Demerara) the following had been handed over:

 

1,191 rounds 7.62×51 ammunition.

Two .22 pistols and three magazines along with 55 rounds .22 ammunition.

One shotgun with one cartridge.

One 9mm Luger pistol with nine matching rounds.

One .32 Walther pistol with one magazine, along with 193 matching rounds.

In `D’ Division (West Demerara and East Bank Essequibo) the following had been handed over:

 

One 9mm magazine.

Three 16 gauge shotgun cartridges.

Three 20 gauge shotgun cartridges.

 

In `F’ Division (Interior) the following had been handed over:

 

One 20 gauge shotgun

One 16 gauge shotgun

The amnesty began on September 1st.
