Kindly accept my humble commendation to the Stabroek News for the exemplary quality of journalism provided by your agency in every facet during the recent elections. It is refreshing to know that in this age of rush to press without verification and the new social media culture of “news feed” and “what’s trending”, that the sacred value of professionalism, balance and accuracy in reporting has not been lost on your newspaper.
I also take this opportunity to commend my fellow Guyanese for the maturity and faith they demonstrated in abundance during these elections, and though there were a few isolated incidents which have been rightfully condemned, the Guyanese people did very well.
Now that these elections are over we would all do very well to embrace this new dispensation and give our new President David Granger and the new government the opportunity and support to move us forward.
