Fashion event to showcase Caribbean American Heritage

The Sonia Noel Foundation for the Creative Arts (SNFCA) in collaboration with Music Brings Life will host a major fashion event – ‘Bridging the Gap, Connecting Caribbean Style’ as part of Caribbean American Heritage Month at Brooklyn Borough Hall on June 12.

young people in the Black, Latino and Caribbean communities about the importance of donating blood. Music Brings Life has as its slogan, ‘Heroes Donate Blood’ and will host three blood drives this summer.

A press release from SNFCA quotes Sonia Noel as saying: “I feel very blessed to have this opportunity to lead the team to produce a fashion event to showcase Caribbean designing talent to the world and at the same time be a part [of] the heroes give blood campaign.”

The fashion event features designers from the French, Dutch and English Caribbean and New York. The team includes Sonia Noel, Richard Young, Donn Thompson, Phillipa Morrish, Steven Cutting, Joslyn Mendez, Jacques Graham, Marisca Fiedtkou-Jordan, Rudiana Bumbury, Lorna Welshman-Neblett, Karen Gray, Christine Neblette, Franck Danican and others.

The release said ‘Bridging the Gap’ will connect cross-cultural Caribbean and new world style.
