Motorcyclist dies after Fort Wellington collision

Inshan Jameen, 21, of Tempe Village, West Coast Berbice, is now dead after he was struck by a speeding car along the Fort Wellington Public Road on Saturday evening.

The incident occurred around 6.20 pm.

A police source told Stabroek News that Dhanpaul Sukha, driver of a car bearing licence plate PRR 5367, was driving at a fast rate when he hit Jameen, who was sitting on his parked motorcycle on the road.

Due to the impact Jameen was thrown about two feet from where he was parked, while Sukha landed on the road shoulders as the car came to a halt.

Both men were rushed to the Fort Wellington Hospital for treatment, However, Sukha was admitted, while Jameen was transferred to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital, where he subsequently died receiving treatment.
