Dear Editor, On Sunday October 27th I attended the ‘Feast of the Year’ celebration presented by ACDA under the patronage of the Registrar of the University of Guyana Mr Vincent Alexander.

Considering the depth and age of the debate for best procurement practices and good governance, it is appalling that the government has embarked on a Memorandum of Understanding for what could be a US$30M waste recycling plant in such a flawed manner.

Dear Editor, On October 7, 2013, I wrote a letter to this newspaper entitled ‘A million dollars is not enough for families of cops who die in the line of duty.’

Dear Editor,   Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI), the nation’s supplier of water and sanitation services, wishes to thank your publication for highlighting the complaint published in the Thursday, November 14 edition of the Stabroek News, titled ‘GWI has not responded to sewage backup in yard after two weeks.’

Dear Editor,   In reading the Stabroek News of Saturday November 9, in an article titled ‘Executive against tax-free salaries across judiciary,’ I learnt that the Chancellor of the Judiciary is receiving tax- free dollars.

The Ministry of Home Affairs can bluster as much as it pleases; nothing demonstrated the shortcomings of the police more clearly than the events in Middle Street on Tuesday. 

Dear Editor, As a frequent user of the Demerara Harbour Bridge, I suffer its inconveniences of crawling traffic at peak hours. 

Dear Editor, Minister within the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development Norman Whittaker has become politically unreasonable and a hindrance to local democracy.

Dear Editor, Does anyone ever remember the name Derek Hugh Goodrich, the Englishman who was the Anglican Dean of the St George’s Cathedral who retired in 1993 to Surrey, UK?

Dear Editor, Been there!  Live that!  That was my reaction to the letter titled ‘Members of the diaspora are not welcome in Guyana’ from Anthony Pantlitz (SN, Nov 14). 

Dear Editor, A wide cross-section of people have expressed their repugnance for child sexual abuse, and understandably so since such trauma inflicted on unsuspecting children can have irreversible psychological, emotional, social, and physical consequences, often lasting into adulthood.

Dear Editor, As we collectively mourn the deaths of two of our men in uniform and citizens of Guyana there is disdain for the failure of the security services’ method of approach in containing and defusing a situation that caused the death of five Guyanese citizens.
