UG, GCC record wins 

The University of Guyana (UG) and the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC), yesterday recorded wins in the latest round of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) Noble House Seafoods, second-division 40 – overs competition.

Hockey teams eye 2018 World Cup spots

By Noelle Smith With the Indoor Pan American Cup hockey tournament set to bully off on Monday at the Cliff Anderson Sports hall, Canada’s national hockey teams plan not only to defend the titles they won in 2014 in Uruguay but also to secure spots for the 2018 World Cup since the male and female team winners will automatically qualify for the World Cup.

Baldeo, Ivan strike centuries

ICC gives green light to test championship, ODI league

  WELLINGTON,  (Reuters) – The International Cricket Council (ICC) has given the green light to a test championship and one-day international league, while countries are also welcome to experiment with four-day tests, the world governing body said on Friday.
