I write as President of the Guyana Association of Private Security Organiza-tions to clarify the concerns of the police expressed in a press release to the media.

I find it quite strange that that in my opening remarks it was not reported that we actually honoured the Acting Commissioner of Police and endorsed his appointment as Commissioner of Police, no less than the Hon. Prime Minister and the Hon. Minister of Home Affairs were at our luncheon, and they could bear me out. Here is the quote: “We wish to say that we recognize the education, experience, knowledge of police sciences, and now of the law, of acting Commis-sioner of Police, Mr. Henry Greene. We have already seen great success in crime fighting since his appointment as the acting head of the force, ladies and gentlemen, the Guyana Association of Private Security Organisa-tions endorses the appointment of Mr. Henry Greene as Commissioner of Police
