Please carry on cautiously

Dear Editor,

Guyana was once a wonderful country to live and die in. However, with the passage of time and history it has most painfully and ingloriously surrendered this privilege and honour resulting in it being known both locally and globally as a wonderland of accidents and incidents. With unprecedented frequency we are chillingly bombarded by the manner in which our species achieves extinction instead of distinction in the incessant battlefield of reckless criminality, of murder, accidents, racial animosity, religious bigotry and lawlessness.

However, all is not lost. Optimistically with the dawn of 2007 let’s strive mightily to make Guyana similar to heaven.

My dear fellow drivers, driving is fun with the exercise of caution, care, and consideration and courtesy – without it driving turns funny.

We can definitely create a common collective approach to our safety.

Before embarking on your vehicle just contemplate on your registration No. plate and say as follows:

PAA – Prevent All Accidents

PBB – Persistently Buckle Up Your Belt

PCC – Please Carry On Cautiously

PDD – Prevent “Drunk Drinking”

PEE – Prevent Endangering Everyone

PFF – Please Follow Firmly

PGG – Praise God Whilst Going

PHH – Prevent Haplessness

and Hurriedness

PJJ – Prevent Jeopardizing the Journey

PKK – Prevent killing Kith & Kin

GGG – Gas and Guinness = Grave

HA – Help All

Yours faithfully,

Pt Chandradt Bud Persaud
