Dear Editor,
I happened to be under the direction of the traffic policeman at Regent and Camp streets on two occasions and observed that it’s only the motorists who obey his instructions. Pedestrians walk rather casually in front of your vehicle whilst pedal cyclists follow suit. I hope that the new traffic lights to be installed would cater for pedestrians like those seen abroad where no vehicular traffic is allowed in their path when given the green light. Compounding this problem is that we don’t charge anyone withaywalking which is on the statute books.
