Alleged tool thief remanded

Acting Chief Magistrate Cecil Sullivan yesterday remanded to prison a man accused of stealing items worth more than $200,000 after he pleaded not guilty when he appeared to answer to the charges.

According to the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court report Sean Pestano pleaded not guilty to a charge of simple larceny.

Pestano, 42, of 140 ‘B’ Field, Sophia between February 1 and 7, allegedly entered the dwelling house of Franklin Jawaheer and stole an electric saw, a quantity of tools and other items. He was arrested and charged following police investigations.

Pestano was ordered to appear at Court Three on Wednesday.
