Cross accused of abducting girl

A 28-year-old man who allegedly abducted a young girl and later fondled her was on Friday remanded to prison by Acting Chief Magistrate Cecil Sullivan.

Arthur Cross was not required to plead to the indictable charge of abduction of an unmarried girl under the age of 16 and indecent assault when he appeared in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that on January 26, Cross took the minor out of the control and possession of her mother. Two days later he allegedly committed the indecent assault on her.

Cross returns to Court Three on March 8.
