Dear Editor,
It is now approximately 3-1/2 weeks since I reported an overflowing gully at Lot 4 Norton Street, Wortmanville.
Needless to say an effort was made in sending a team who came to the lot before mine (lot 3) looked at an overflowing manhole and did absolutely nothing and left. I was even given a reference no. which I do believe is cosmetic for it was never used. What made matters worse is that the final call for some action was responded to with a “I cannot remember that complaint.” That was the last straw which broke the camel’s back.
I am not in the habit of throwing any foreign matter in the gully which would cause a blockage, for that was the excuse which was given on the last occasion when the area and more particularly my family suffered from the ancient and damaged systems which have been overburdened from time immemorial.
GWI demands prompt payment when owed, citizens deserve prompt response when problems arise.
