Noise nuisance at Peter’s Hall

Dear Editor,

We have witnessed the passing of the budget, the Rio Summit , and soon we will be witnessing world cup cricket, but I want to draw to the attention of the President, the Home Affairs Minister and those in authority a matter that has been frequently reported on in the newspapers and other media.

That is noise nuisance, in particular loud music.

I live in Azore Street, Peter’s Hall a few houses north of school street. I have two neighbours who ignore all concerns of the citizens in this street, every weekend they race with their boom boom boxes, playing it to the maximum. You are in your house and you cannot be at ease. Can the authorities do something.

The minister of health has said listening to sound above 90 decibels can cause you to become deaf.

Yours faithfully,

(Name and address supplied)
