The body of a 66-year-old man was discovered in his yard at Ulverston, Corentyne, Berbice on Tuesday afternoon by some children playing in the area.
Roderick Thomas known as ‘Goat’, was found lying in his yard by the children who ran and told their parents. Neighbours investigated and confirmed that the man was indeed dead.
One of his good friends, Cava McGregor, who arrived at the scene within minutes said he last saw the man on Monday night.
He noted that the man’s torchlight was still beside him, and his door was still closed, suggesting he might have died that same night.
McGregor surmised that he might have hit his head on one of the two wooden posts between which he was found.
The rails of the stairs leading to Thomas’s home were missing and the landing (porch) is some nine feet high.
