A cricket team from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport defeated a team from the New Opportunity Corps (NOC) at the NOC ground in Essequibo last Sunday. The ministry’s team batted first and scored 175-6 in 30 overs with Rodrigues McCalmont top scoring 46 and Kenroy Joseph chipping in with 31.
Seon Fraser picked up 2-22 and Ramaria Nascimento 2-38 bowling for NOC who, in reply, were bowled out for 94 in 28.2 overs.
Fenton Persaud picked up 4-14 while Daniel Richmond grabbed 2-5 bowling for the victors.
