Chattergoon shines in under-15 practice

Harrinarine Chattergoon’s XI defeated Carlos La Rose’s XI in the second trial match for the national U-15 cricketers who are preparing for the regional U-15 tournament.

Chattergoon slammed six fours in topscoring with 31 which helped his team reach 172-9 off 39 overs at the Police Sports Complex ground on Friday.

Wicket-keeper/batsman Kevin Singh chipped in with 24 (which included three boundaries) while Dayanand Roopnarine contributed 20.

Off-spinner Travis Karim grabbed 2-26 for La Rose’s XI who, in reply, could only muster 82-7 off 16 overs.

Karim crowned a decent all-round performance by top scoring with 22, which included four boundaries while diminutive left-arm spinner Gudakesh Moti picked up 2-14 and pacer Keon Joseph, 2-21.

A third practice match scheduled for yesterday was rained out.
