Latest Arts Journal offers new perspectives on slave trade abolition

A special double issue of The Arts Journal will be released shortly providing new perspectives on the abolition of the trans-Atlantic slave trade in its bicentennial year.

A press release from the publication stated that “200 years after this historic event is a good time for critical analysis to throw new light on this subject.” It noted that scholars and other persons interested in the topic will find this issue a well-informed, well-written collection.

The Arts Journal is on sale at all leading bookstores or from the editor at telephone no: 227 6825. The publication is a peer-reviewed, critical journal whose aim is to provide a platform for scholarly research and critical writing that will illuminate the written and oral traditions, the visual culture and cultural expressions of Guyana, the wider Caribbean and their diasporas, the release said. It also publishes creative writing and book reviews.
