Dear Editor,
I, like so many West Indian fans around the world, have been putting the West Indies team under the microscope and am buoyed by the continuous improvement in their all round performance with each succeeding match.
Very evident is a sense of maturity, purpose and pride and I am convinced that with Clive Lloyd’s presence and influence the team can only get better. I hope malaise and carelessness do not infect our players and that they stay focused.
I hope, further, that the quest for personal stardom does not supersede the pursuit of team effort manifest in recent matches.
It is therefore with great anticipation that West Indian supporters look forward to the thrill of the Super 8 matches and we urge our team to exceed all expectations and do our region proud by winning the World Cup.
