Fuel charges against Shairaz Ali dismissed

Charges laid against businessman Shairaz Ali, owner of Two Brothers Gas station, for the possession of illegal fuel have been dismissed.

The case was heard by Principal Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle at the Wales Magistrate Court yesterday.

Attorney at Law Vic Puran appeared for the defendant.

Guyana Energy Agency special prosecutor Anil Nandlall says he intends to appeal the ruling. Nandlall did not attend the proceedings yesterday but in an invited comment informed Stabroek News of his intended action.
