Bandits grab $2M from man in Thomas St

Gun-toting bandits struck again yesterday robbing a man of $2 million and firing two shots before escaping.

Dilip Singh was attacked by at least two bandits at just around 3 pm at Thomas Street, just across from the Eureka Laboratory. He was relieved of $2 million, which he had just withdrawn from a bank.

According to reports, Singh was in his car when the bandits, who were on motorcycles, approached him, dragged him out of his car and demanded the money.

He had apparently been under surveillance by the men, who also showed their familiarity with the security arrangements at Eureka as they pulled Singh out of the view of a security camera that was fixed outside of the building.

One of the bandits fired off two shots close to Singh, when he at first did not give into their demands. They then grabbed the money and escaped.

The police were called and arrived on the scene shortly after. They recovered a spent shell and a bullet.

Persons on the scene were reluctant to talk about the incident. One woman said, “I hear the shots but I ain’t see nothing”.

Police are investigating.
