Jagdeo praises army top brass action over missing AK-47

Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces President Bharrat Jagdeo yesterday said that the recent disappearance of an AK-47 rifle from the military headquarters was unacceptable, but he praised the administration for its tough action so far, saying that in the past weapons went missing and the nation had a hard time knowing.

Jagdeo made the comments during a media interaction at the Office of the President where he also said that the recent attempted eviction of retired Brigadier General Edward Collins from Camp Ayanganna by a Captain was because the former Chief-of-Staff apparently did not follow the protocol regarding him visiting the military base. Collins had expressed disgust about the incident.
