I do thank you for the opportunity of keeping up with GT news on your online newspaper.
The recent find of another illegal airstrip intrigues me: “Lovell said that their pilots would normally fly at 10,000 feet and it is difficult to detect such activities from that height. He said however that on Sunday when the airstrip was detected the pilot was flying at 8000 feet.
In addition, Lovell said that the army did not always fly in that area and that too would have resulted in them not noticing the airstrip earlier.”
Could Colonel Lovell comment on what military aircraft was flying on that day? Are any of the military’s aircraft serviceable? Bell 412 at Tacama? Skyvan/s unserviceable? Y-12 God knows? Aren’t they and the government embarrassed? Dr Luncheon we need to hear the government’s take on this, and not your usual long winded version please.
So if no military planes are working could it be that a civilian plane was used for this “military” flight.
The alleged aircraft has four bladed props, can’t seem to find Lets online with four bladed props. Most are three and five bladed. Interesting for identification.
What is the time frame for the repair of our military aircraft? The fixed wing for surveillance purposes and our one and only helicopter for support of our disciplined forces on the ground, and of course most importantly for Search and Rescue operations.
